The short version: use the site in good faith, we're not promising it does anything beyond what we've actually described here, and nothing here is tax, legal or financial advice.

Who this is between

These terms are between you and Versura Solutions Inc., a company based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (mailing address: PO Box 73047, RPO Hampton, Edmonton, Alberta T5T 3X1). They apply to this website (versurasolutions.com). By using it, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What this covers

This document covers browsing this website, using its contact and waitlist forms, and using the MapleExpat pages on it, including the page that stops MapleExpat reminder emails. It does not cover the MapleExpat app: the app's own terms will be published at versurasolutions.com/mapleexpat/terms before the app launches. It does not cover, and is not a substitute for, a signed engagement letter or statement of work for consulting services with Versura. If you're a client, the terms of that relationship live in your own agreement with us, not here.

Using this website

You may browse this site, read it, and use the contact form and the MapleExpat waitlist form to reach us for their intended purpose. You agree not to use the site to do anything unlawful, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to it or any account or system connected to it, to interfere with its normal operation (including scraping it at a volume or frequency that burdens it), or to submit anything through its forms that is fraudulent, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights.

Not professional advice

This website provides general information only. Nothing here is tax, legal or financial advice, and using this website does not create a professional or client relationship between you and Versura. Confirm anything you plan to act on with a qualified adviser who knows your situation.

Intellectual property

The content on this website — its text, design, graphics, and the Versura Solutions and MapleExpat names and marks — belongs to Versura Solutions or its licensors. You may view and share it for personal, non-commercial reference. You may not copy, republish, or use it to build a competing product or service without our written permission.

Third-party links and services

This site may link to third-party websites, and relies on third-party services to operate its forms (see the for which ones and why). We don't control those third parties and aren't responsible for their content, their availability, or what they do with information you give them directly.

No warranty

This website is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Versura Solutions is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this website, or from any decision made in reliance on it, and its total liability to you for any other claim arising from this website is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). Nothing in this section limits any right you have under applicable law that cannot lawfully be limited or waived — including consumer-protection rights available to you under Canadian, EU, UK, or California law, where they apply.

Changes

We may update this website or these terms from time to time. If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute about these terms or this website is to be heard in the courts of Alberta sitting in Edmonton, and you and Versura Solutions each accept those courts' jurisdiction for that purpose. If you're accessing the site from the EU, the UK, or California, this doesn't take away any mandatory protection your local consumer law gives you that can't be waived by agreement.

If part of this doesn't hold up

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. That part will be read to reflect its original intent as closely as the law allows, rather than voiding everything around it.
