About
The software was never the hard part.
Versura Solutions is a Canadian company founded by Safiyya Punjani and Jacob Caley. We help organizations put new systems and AI to work, and we stay through the part where people actually start using them.
We also build and publish our own software. The same problem shows up there: the build is the smaller half, and what matters is whether the thing is genuinely usable by someone who has never seen it before.MapleExpat is the first of those.
The name
Versura comes from the Latin vertere, to turn. It is the root under convert, reverse and transform. We picked it because the work is a turn: an organization running one way on Friday and a different way on Monday, and somebody has to be responsible for the moment in between.
The founders
Equal partners. Both of us sell, both of us deliver.
Across every line of work. Whoever you meet first is one of the two people who will be doing the job.

Safiyya Punjani
Co-founder
Safiyya co-founded Versura on a simple premise: most organizations can build an AI prototype, but very few can get their teams to actually use it reliably. As a consultant and builder, she bridges that gap by designing practical AI workflows and managing the human change required to adopt them.
Her approach is shaped by a dual background in hands-on technical building and enterprise change management. On the builder side, Safiyya is constantly in the lab, architecting agentic AI workflows, multi-agent falsification panels, and automated pipelines. Versura takes a platform-agnostic approach, selecting the right models, automation frameworks, and local deployments for each specific business problem rather than forcing a single vendor. She brings what works in the lab directly into client engagements. On the change management side, she has led complex, high-stakes rollouts, including a full-scale enterprise system implementation for a 700+ user community and the development of organizational AI governance frameworks from scratch. She knows how to design the training, operational workflows, and governance gates required to turn a technical demo into a reliable business process.
Before Versura, Safiyya led AI policy and systems implementation for large, multi-stakeholder educational institutions, administered enterprise operational platforms across multiple campuses, and designed an AI fluency workshop for a United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office. She holds a Change Management Certificate from the University of Alberta and is currently expanding her technical foundation through Harvard’s CS50.
Few organizations implement major platforms, governance frameworks, and operational changes at the same time. Having led this work across enterprise systems, Microsoft 365, and AI governance for large educational networks, Safiyya brings a practical understanding of how technology, policy, and people must work together. That experience shapes Versura’s core belief: successful technology adoption requires more than the right tools. It requires clear governance, practical processes, and people who are confident using them.

Jacob Caley
Co-founder
Jacob co-founded Versura on the belief that successful implementation is rarely a technology problem. Currently, he serves as a Development Coordinator at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), one of Canada’s leading polytechnic institutions, where he leads institution-wide initiatives designed to improve student outcomes, strengthen organizational processes, and support strategic priorities.
At NAIT, Jacob has directed complex, multi-stakeholder rollouts. He led the end-to-end implementation of a student volunteer management system, overseeing platform selection, policy development, and operational design. Additionally, he introduced and scaled an AI-powered career development platform, growing its adoption to over 3,000 users across multiple academic programs. Navigating this large and complex post-secondary environment has honed his ability to balance competing priorities and drive change across diverse departments.
Before NAIT, Jacob spent four years at Blyth Academy Qatar working at the intersection of educational leadership, systems administration, and organizational change. He developed the policies, workflows, and training required to drive system adoption and operational consistency. Leading teams, managing complex schedules, and improving organizational processes provided the practical foundation for the change management and implementation work that Versura now delivers for clients.
What connects his work is a consistent track record of turning ideas into implemented projects. He has selected platforms, redesigned processes, written policies, trained staff, and supported adoption long after the initial launch. This hands-on experience forms the foundation of Versura’s approach to change: technology only creates value when people understand it, adopt it, and use it consistently.
Working together
We met over the same enterprise system rollout.
Both of us worked at Blyth Academy Qatar in Doha, managing the same PowerSchool instance.
Hiring a two-person firm raises a fair question: is the partnership untested? Ours is not. We have argued about data models, sat in the same staff training sessions, and cleaned up the same reporting cycle. Versura is a newer company than it is a working relationship.
Where we are
Jacob is in North America. Safiyya is in Asia.
The company is registered in Alberta, but our geographic split is not a caveat about our availability. It is the reason remote, international delivery is a core service line, not just a promise.
Running migrations and training across time zones is something Safiyya has spent years doing, supporting organizations whose day starts when Alberta's ends. Between North America and Asia, we cover almost the entire global working day. For Alberta clients, that means a wider support window, not a narrower one. For international clients, it means you are working with a team that already keeps your hours.
